Help Us Send Children Home with Food + Love
For many children, school meals are an important source of nourishment each day. Approximately 95% of the students at the Kansas City, Kansas elementary schools we serve qualify for free school breakfast and lunch. During the holidays, many of these children face hunger at home without those crucial meals provided at the school.
That’s where L3 steps in.
Each year, with the help of generous donors, food drives, and dedicated volunteers, L3 provides more than 1,000 elementary students with bags of nutritious, shelf-stable food to take home over winter break. We currently serve students at:
Mark Twain Elementary
McKinley Elementary
Quindaro Elementary
T.A. Edison Elementary
Our food bags include items such as rice, pinto beans, canned tuna and chicken, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, fruit cups, oatmeal, and granola bars—simple staples that can help provide meals when school is not in session.
And the need doesn’t end with winter break. The same campaign helps us provide food for students over spring break, too.

It takes an entire community to fill more than 1,000 bags of food. Whether you donate food, give financially, organize a collection drive, or volunteer your time, you can help make sure a child has food to take home when school is closed.

$25 Can Help Feed a Child During School Breaks
A little goes a long way.
A $25 donation can provide food for one child for both winter and spring break. You can sponsor a child or make a donation of any amount—every gift helps us put food on the table for children in Kansas City, Kansas.
Because when we fill a bag with food, we're doing more than feeding a child. We're showing them they are seen, they are supported, and they are loved.
