Approximately 95% of the students at Mark Twain Elementary qualify for free lunches and are fed breakfast at school.  During the holidays, many of these children face hunger as those meals are not available and there is not enough food at home.

With the help of generous cash and food donations, as well as hardworking volunteers, we are able to provide these children with a rolling bag filled to the brim with healthy food to take home with them over the holiday break.  Items in the bags include: rice, pinto beans, canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, applesauce/fruit cups, oatmeal, granola bars, graham crackers, and microwave popcorn.

We use this same campaign to gather smaller food bags that are provided for the children over spring break as well.

VOLUNTEER sign-ups WILL BEcome AVAILABLE As the food drive approaches.

A little goes a long way!  For only $47, you can provide food for one child for both the holiday and spring breaks. If you would like to make a monetary donation or sponsor a child for $47, click the donate button below.
